yeah, sure. you wanna hide somewhere in your little hideout? i'll come by in a moment, just need to do a few things before i go anywhere.

there's nowhere to hide here... does leona think he'll make this easy simply because he might want to be caught? perish the thought. it's now a competition, a game, and kaname intends to win it. ]

i'll be waiting.

[ right. he'll leave his phones here for safe keeping and so leona can't do any dirty tricks to win (since it isn't against the rules to use pinging to their advantage) and step out of the hideaway, looking around for a good hiding spot and staring at the house instead.

... it'll do. even if leona gets the idea to look inside, there's plenty more hiding spaces for him. ]

[ hm. well... once he's done taking care of his hair, leona makes his way to the hideout. he's not surprised that there is no trace of kaname outside of both of his phones... and leona leaves his own as well. might as well make sure no one can find him either. it'll definitely worry anyone who tries to contact either of them but...

right. well, it makes the most sense to him that kaname wouldn't go anywhere that far. why? the phones. easy. so that really only leaves a few places.

after he makes sure the boy didn't hide in the chair, the possibilities are dwindling. yeah, he could be hiding somewhere outside but that'd be risky. right? so maybe he would be willing to go into the actual house.

he scrunches up his face. fine, he'll go into the house. what's the worst that could happen? ]

[ there's zombie inhabitants... it's fine. they're shuffling and sniffing around, just a handful of them wandering through to see if there's any food (there is not) since most of them have moved out into town for the same reason.

they stare a little too long at leona as he makes his way through, but it's fine. probably.

the kitchen has noise coming from it, but given the zombies' hunger... it's definitely just them rooting around. there's still bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets to look into though. how does leona plan to find his kaname with this in mind. ]

[ that's a good question. there are many places that kaname could be hiding in and there are some different ways he could go about it. he could play very mean and... just outright trick or lie to get the boy out, but what good would that do? besides--- he is smart enough to probably not fall for anything...

he'll save the kitchen for last. bedrooms will probably take the longest time, depending on the state they're in.

the first room is big enough, with a large bed in the middle and a few tall drawers for what he assumes would be dresses and shirts. he'll have to dig through the latter first before returning to the bed, getting down on his knees to check underneath... ]

[ leona has such faith in kaname's intellect. he's stupid enough to fall for it, because his mind latches onto one thing and sticks to it like a bulldog. so it's good that his high opinion keeps the game on longer.

there's nothing but clothes in the drawers and the same can be said under this bed, just dust bunnies that are ripe for the playing with as their tumbleweed forms are so tempting for the normal person to blow away. there is evidence that someone might have thought to hide here, though, with the layer of dust disturbed on the other side, and then thought better of it before leaving. ]

[ of course he does. but it wouldn't feel fair... it'd be underhanded... he'd have to drink later for it.

with nothing and no one to show for his bending and looking, leona dusts off his pants and moves back into the hallway. should he peek into a bathroom without knocking? yeah, why not. he could get rebuked for it. might get a smack on the face or hollered at, but he doesn't care... ]

Wonder where that lil' idol has gone?

[ said in a sing-song manner, tail flicking back and forth as he looks. ]

[ nothing in the bathrooms, though the towels are disturbed... the closets end up the same way: messed with, but ultimately empty of a certain idol. there is evidence that some linens were taken though, for some reason or another, and the racket in the kitchen continues.

when he eventually comes that way, there's a couple that seem pretty keen on the pantry. they turn to look at him in that creepy way they've been doing this month, unmoving. one of them is loosely gripping a piece of a sheet. but there doesn't seem to be any other signs of damage.

ugh. kaname hates being the hider. he's deciding this right now. ]

[ he wants to avoid the kitchen because, well, the more obvious something is... the less desirable it is for him to want to spoil the big surprise. right? not to mention the oddly attentive zombies are making him feel a little uncomfortable. does he need to sand them? probably not. but if they even think about coming for him or yodaka, he'll make sure there's nothing left for anyone to judge him about.

right. so that pantry... that sheet the one corpse-like being is holding reminds him of one that probably was in a bedroom...

instead of using his hands though? it's magic that he'll use to slowly open it. inch by inch. ]

[ oh... it's being pulled back shut. mysteriously. stop that. ]

[ yeah? what the heck???

he's not going to stop. it's easy to maintain this level of magical energy. it won't change as he sort of... makes his way past both zombies and stands right in front of it. ]

so he. just. kind of stops with the magic. shoves his own hands in there. he's not trying to pry the door open quickly. a slow and dramatic reveal is best. ]

[ oh jesus christ those are hands coming in the ones trying to pull it shut are jerking back...

and the slow, dramatic reveal shows kaname off a bit at a time, from his puffed cheeks to the sheets he's pulled over and around himself. part of it is torn, yes, and he curls back against the pantry beneath the shelves of non-perishables. ]

[ because who in their right mind would hide in a pantry. he knew he should've taken the closet. ]

[ a curl of the lips follows as he beckons to kaname with a finger. ]

[ half-lidded eyes blink slowly to match the mellow tone of his voice. ]

[ he's going to throw more than bread at these zombies when he's not... currently distracted by the quick tick up of his heart, smile coming easily as he turns a cheek. ]

When have I ever come quietly, Leona? From what I understand of the rules, the hider would normally be allowed to run for "home".

[ but he's sort of trapped. ]

They don't simply give up.

[ that's a loaded question if he ever did hear one. leona keeps his smile in check. ]

okay these zombies are annoying and creepy but he'll step through them as well as any dancer can and duck around the corner to see if he can hide in a nook to surprise leona himself. see who's the lion then. he does want to be caught, honestly. ]

okay maybe watching him go and hearing his giggle... ugh okay his tail quietly wiggles in anticipation. look how smoothly kaname gets out of there and probably somewhere else? he'll have to follow and check those same hiding spots from before. would make the most sense because there might be less dust... a little cleaner...

he certainly won't expect getting jumped! nope. never :) ]

[ great! because kaname is definitely hoping he isn't expecting to be, since he'll wait to see what leona does before toeing off his shoes to be a little sneakier as he steps quietly along. careful... careful...

and then he'll go for a hug from behind to catch the other, let the hunter become the hunted!!!!! kaname'll be sooooooo happy this is... a lot of fun, actually, almost scarily so!!! whether he wins or not, it's fun. which is-- something he's becoming comfortable with, with certain people, and leona is definitely someone he doesn't mind losing to.

he has nothing to prove, he's realized. it's liberating. ]

[ it's when he steps through a doorway and around a corner that he notices the shoes, but it's too late for him. arms around his body, circling him, giving him what feels like a gentle wrap and squeeze... it pulls a gasp out from him. leona kingscholar, finally captured by a human! the second prince of beasts, foiled by man! incredible... amazing.

leona takes kaname's hands, keeping them there, turning his head slightly so he can peek at the boy using his peripheral. ]

[ keeping it cool. ]

[ hee. kaname smiles smugly up at the beastman, leaning more against him with a thoughtful hum. now what... any good predator would eat their prey of course, but leona is hardly prey. hmmmmmm. ]

[ oh? well then. looks like leona's actually a winner here... despite being 'caught'. he's slow and deliberate as he turns to face kaname, not going so fast to force the other to lose his grip but not slow enough to drag it out. a healthy medium speed.

then both eyebrows raise in surprise along with a grin. ]

[ and he'll sort of bend down to make it easier for him. ]

[ leona did find him... it's a reward for that. but it's still plenty of a reward for himself too, being able to be forthright with his want for affection in both giving and receiving, and kaname stands a little taller to kiss the beastman

[ come on... you know he's not the type. reimei rewards results, not efforts -- it's still hard to peel that off of him. ]

[ if he's disappointed, then leona's not showing it. far from it--- both of his ears flick as he turns his head and noses kaname's cheek in return. ]
