[ the more eager leona becomes, the more eager kaname does in response -- he's a reactive person by nature, usually lashing out with claws or with a hissing comment that drives a tense situation into a spat, it's rarely "reactive" in a good way since he'd never had the chance at it growing up without his mother... but he's been easing into it more, or trying to anyway, becoming used to the ways others approach him with no intentions of his downfall (as so many did prior to his coming here, their burning gazes becoming simple memory in the wake of kinder, warmer ones) or speak on equal terms with him as rivals, as people with merits of their own, as equals and... as friends, in some cases.

some may say he's becoming honest with his feelings and reacting appropriately. but kaname's simply becoming used to being loved and cherished in a way he hadn't through the past decade of his life, and though it makes him feel unbalanced and uneasy... he does like it, does yearn for it, keeps his claws out just in case but doesn't use them on the few people he trusts the sincerity of and seeks them out when he wants a token of affection or more. others might get their hand clawed at or kaname would snap away with a biting comment, but for the few on a growing list he'd endure, he'd enjoy, content in trusting them with such a delicate matter.

not that anyone knows this.

in fact, he might be called contradictory because of it -- but no such contradiction lies here right now. leona treats him well and kaname mirrors it. kisses returned with a fever that betrays his desire to want and be wanted. touches he welcomes, trusting the other not to hurt him and being proven right. his body moves without his thoughtful consent, without plans or overthinking, and while it might not be something he only feels with leona it is right now, and it'll be something he marks down as safe and good.

such an upbringing makes it harder for feelings to reach him too of course. but there's an inkling of leona's feelings, steadily dripping in past kaname's less physical barriers, and it's rare to find someone who might understand. still he won't be too open about such a shameful past he bears, but every action and reaction is born from that cruelty nonetheless, and maybe one day the people kaname trusts (the people he loves in his own fumbling way) will learn and understand it, will accept him regardless and pet his head.

it's all too much thought for thoughtless actions, how he's emboldened by leona's touch and reactions to mark harder and more, (this moment is his, if nothing else in this room belongs to him,) how he can't think of anything but the physical sensations centered in one spot but echoing across the rest of his body, his chest hurts with the shortness of air but it doesn't feel bad, it doesn't, he doesn't dislike it, it's exciting and he's eager to keep up and add to it, be it by his actions or the noises that denote his pleasure, short sweet things that only multiply the longer this goes on. he's a chatty housecat in every way, and he really won't last compared to leona in any way -- not as a first timer, not being so reactive and excited. ]

[ he's not thinking with his small brain right now, though it's certainly taking a forward position very soon. after all--- he craves release and doing it with kaname... it's a very intimate thing, isn't it? every sense is being entertained all at once; from the sound of slick skin rubbing against each other to the taste of kaname's saliva and the trace amounts of blood in it... to the feeling, to the familiar and heady aroma of sex, and the sight of kaname below him... he's practically on fire.

perhaps, as this cat continues to paw and scratch and fight, leona will be there to enable it. to make him learn a different kind of selfishness. the kind that can save him. the kind that will let him follow a different path that doesn't end in pain and agony for those who love him. for those who know him. it never hurts to learn how to love oneself. in his world, of eat or be eaten, being able to do that... it can save you. not just from predators, but from yourself.

maybe... he can do that. somehow.

for now though? he's more than content to just... see where they can go together. enjoy the thrill of an approaching climax, tension reaching a point of no return. inevitability surging through his veins, displacing blood, leaving him slightly lightheaded. his breath catching in his throat, the feeling of a bead of sweat sliding down his brow... this is not some low effort. he's not phoning it in. ]

Y-Yodaka...

[ his voice is hoarse with restraint but there's no stopping it now. another pump with his hand, and then he squeezes firmly before pulling up and back and he comes. a mess, hot and sticky, spurting on the other's stomach, dripping and flowing down. his desperate jerking is aided, rewarded by his leavings. ]

[ the name seals something in his mind, vaguely aware of it as he is: "yodaka" is allowed this. "kaname" is not.

but it's only a momentary thought as his own carries through and the sound remains muffled against teeth and skin, but the difference in the two of them is once the heat dies down (splattered against his stomach, revolting but rewarding) kaname loosens his grip on leona and turns his head away with short pants as he tries to swim through the haze of his still-clouded mind, hands dragging nails lazily against his skin as just something to do with them.

he never could keep his hands still, after all. the biggest tell of any excess energy, of nerves and excitement. ]

... So this is... other stuff, [ he mumbles, distantly aware that he isn't thinking it to himself. ] Fun.

[ fun. dangerous, considering how he's craving it again, that man was right that you shouldn't do it willy-nilly -- but he isn't going to have the pleasure of being right, kaname isn't saying a word of it to him ever, he's going to content himself to turning a startlingly fond gaze back to leona and kissing his lightly. hello. enjoy the brief openness while you can, he's trying to nab a little affection. ]

Very fun.

[ it's the equivalent of slipping into a sauna after a long run, his entire body finally calming down. he doesn't immediately clean off the evidence of their fun. not yet, even though it'll certainly cool and be less acceptable to leave there. it's okay. he won't let kaname wear it for too long...

the kiss feels just as good, if not better, than the ones from before. as he looks at kaname's chest, he sees that ring of teeth marks still appearing bright and red but less angry. it's still a pleasant reminder of what they've done. what they can continue to do. ]

There's more, but... [ he returns the kiss. ] ... 'm sure you can figure it out. Just didn't wanna overwhelm ya.

[ you're too kind for him, is what he thinks. why would anyone want to love a future not-king. ]

[ this was the non-overwhelming option... kaname scowls a little at himself and scoots back, slowly, to sit up and look himself over. mm. mmmmm.

... mmmmmmmm. ]

I thought you'd put more on me.

[ not that he's disappointed, necessarily, and he pushes his hair behind his ear habitually; as always, the shorter strands fall back to where they were, and he hums in disapproval at the mess before kissing leona again, hand coming up to trace his cheek, his neck, his shoulder. ]

You should. [ is what he decides. ] I like how it felt.

[ that leona wanted to, so casually agreed, on a worthless idol who was little more than a mask to everyone he spoke to. ]

Next time it might not be on ya at all.

[ and now he cleans him off. one hand to wipe it away, before then brushing it off on the edge of his sheets. he finally has a reason to wash them! incredible. not like he can get all of it, kaname's just going to have to live with a sticky tummy for a little bit. because leona's going to cover him up with his own body, and after the next round of kisses he lowers himself down so the side of his head can rest against the other's chest. ]

... I'm glad. Not sayin' it'd be weird if you didn't, but you looked good. Sounded good. Tasted good.

[ grins. ]

[ he meant the hickies... the mess can Go for all he cares, but.

this is nice too, the weight against him and how he knows leona can hear his heartbeat beneath, quickening with the compliments that flush his cheeks with heat and the promise of more. kaname hesitates, then raises a hand to... stroke through the other's hair. this is more of a comfort action as far as he connects, but it's hard to resist when they're close like this. skin to skin.

maybe he'll unwind leona's braids while he's here. let loose. ]

... It's not?

[ oh... that is dangerous. after the compliments, the praise, that's dangerous. ]

Rather... [ mmm mm m he doesn't know what to say. can't they go back to kissing... ] I-I mean, good. That you enjoyed it so much too. And want more.

[ yeah. he's doing his best. why don't they have scripts for this. he's going to wind leona's hair around his fingers and tug it lightly. ]

I... still have to say, though, that I'm not cute.

[ if only life were that easy and messes were avoidable but unfortunately... not with leona. he has a lot to give, hickies and other things alike.

clearly, he's not too heavy or uncomfortable for kaname. a good thing as he's being pet, both of his ears twitching as he deepens his breathing. even as the afterglow leaves him, he's still quite content. fancy how that works: for all the restlessness he's been experiencing, kaname's been one of the very few to provide peace he's wanted for a while. ]

Of course I do. [ this is all good practice for kaname's future, right? to be able to use his words? go off-script? yeah. ]

[ he snorts. ]

Then what are ya?

[ that phrase again. the only reason kaname shifts is to make it just a little more comfortable for himself, more confident in his strokes once it's evident leona appreciates them. there's exactly two others he feels this relaxed around and... being able to add a third is nice, kaname decides tentatively.

he speaks a little quieter, closing his eyes as he does. he can't sleep, probably. shouldn't. narukami might call him if he lingers too long, but that's a little later. ]

I've been told that I have a cool, intelligent appearance -- mature and stylish, [ if it's starting to sound like someone there's a reason for that, ] with a kind, quiet composure.

[ ... who always extends a hand to his companions, who has nothing bad to say about others... kaname smiles wanly to himself; there was no way he could've ever filled those shoes, even if some of those traits are his own. he gets too mean when stressed, he overthinks and speaks thoughtlessly -- he's gotten in trouble each time for these flaws, and for some reason, for some reason...

for some reason, there were still people who smiled when they saw him. ]

I'd like to be some of those things. [ more like his brother... ] Someone with my looks shouldn't be called cute.

[ even if his attitude pins him as it. ]

[ funny how kaname describes things that he would've used to describe himeru after initially meeting him and how quickly those things were proven to be a mirage once the little brother came into play. it makes a lot of sense, if leona were to place a few assumptions in line, about why. the desires and wishes of the younger brother, being played out by the older one...

wrapping his arms around kaname's waist, he gives the other a squeeze. ]

I think you are already some of those things. You got plenty of time to work in the others.

[ and sliding back up he goes. his turn to leave kisses, one at each corner of his lips, before licking them. ]

Just don't get too cool and quiet too fast. Less fun to be had that way.

[ kaname hums as he's kissed again, peering open an eye and then shutting it again as he moves his hands up to play with leona's ears instead. gentle pets. ]

When you've already seen me like this? I don't think I could even feign it at this point.

[ which is a little worrying, sure, in the sobering sense that he's putting trust in someone else... but he hasn't made a mistake so far in who he's allowed to see a different side of him, so he's easing into confidence with it bit by bit. he'll make a mistake one of these days, but not today.

... mm. kaname'll open his eyes again, and he'll dodge any attempts at kisses with a turn of his head. ]

... I have a question for you. You'll answer it honestly, won't you?

[ wow. he's not letting leona get any more smooches... amazing. playing coy again, so soon? maybe he does need to tire him out with a little more, just to get him to let leona get his lips on him again and again. ]

Yeah. Got no reason to lie to ya.

[ which is also a lie in and of itself.

leona fixes his gaze on kaname, tilting his head slightly to one side in curiosity. he stares thoughtfully and without skepticism, wondering... what he wishes to ask him. ]

[ mmmmmmmmmmmm.

it's a silly, difficult question to ask, but it's one he snags on when it comes to particular people -- and leona is certainly one of those, now more than ever, though. he doesn't think it would extend this far. ]

... My brother doesn't have anything to do with all of this, [ the closeness, the getting to know each other in the first place maybe, ] does he?

[ it's not exactly what he wants to ask, so he'll follow up with a hesitant clarification. ]

Rather, you didn't approach me after that night just because I'm his younger brother, did you?

[ asked to do so or otherwise, not that he would know. ]

[ he's not trying to dismiss whatever possible insecurities might be hanging onto his words, but leona's visibly taken aback. he doesn't pull away though--- instead, he continues to press himself into kaname's space and continues to smother him with his presence. he wants to just... ]

Nah. If anythin', he'd probably kill me and hang my hide outside of your house if he knew 'bout this.

[ not to say that leona wouldn't fight back and probably win, but. yeah. ]

I didn't approach you just 'cause of your brother. I didn't even know... he left me after comin' to my room in a panic. Left me his gemstone to keep it safe until after he knew you were safe.

[ he's not going to force another kiss, but he feels more protective than ever. that's for sure. ]

So I was curious. Assumed you were related. Wanted to see for myself why he'd risk everything... makes sense now.

[ too much sense, actually. ]

[ surely it's supposed to be comforting. it's something he should want to hear -- and in part, sure, it is.

but at the same time there's a sharp jump in his chest and kaname's hands grip harder at the ears automatically, loosening only to move back down to leona's hair to dig in there. ]

... What do you mean, "risk everything"?

[ why would he leave his gemstone? the very thing that he'd told kaname to keep safe -- that was their life, in more words than that, a precious little stone that was everything that they were flaws and all? ]

His life, for starters.

[ there's no reason to dull the seriousness of what himeru set out to do when he left the safety of leona's apartment that night. even he warned the impulsive idol from going out and making what could've been a fatal mistake. ]

But he left me the stone 'cause he trusted me... 'cause he knows how powerful I am. Even without my magic that night, I'm still pretty damn strong.

[ his muscles don't lie. ]

I wasn't gonna betray him. No reason to. Still don't have any reason to.

[ ... oh, just that. he seems to ease back again, dropping his head against the sheets and closing his eyes with a long sigh. it isn't as if he understood what matoba had put into his head, but the riddle-like words drift back every now and then. ]

If that's all, then nevermind. I was worried about something else.

[ something he'd done himself, though he doesn't know his brother has also given blood to save what time they had together. ]

... I'm relieved it has nothing to do with him, though.

[ mm. he doesn't know how to say it without giving too much of his worries away, though, so he'll leave it at that and let his hands trace over the clawing he gave leona earlier. pressing over the raised skin lightly, experimentally. ]

I can't stay the night. [ an apology. ] What do you usually do after... this?

[ sort of... thing........ ]

[ whatever that has kaname suddenly worried like that... begs the question of how important it must be. yet he doesn't open up any further and while leona's curiosity is now piqued, he's not here to push any further. no--- why ruin a good thing? he gets to have kaname a little longer, the feeling of those fingers against scraped skin forcing a sigh of relief (or something like it) out of the beastman.

's okay. I get it. [ that he can't just... out himself here. he has a place to return to. a brother to keep company. no use in hiding a little disappointment though, because he is. ]

Can lie here for a bit if you want, or if you're desperate to get clean, my shower's fine. Shampoo and conditioner, bar soap... and if you want help gettin' your back, I can join ya.

[ but otherwise, he's content in snuggling. ]

... Leona. [ it does feel nice in his mouth. and it'll be easier when he's referring to the other as well, so the warmth that drips in now isn't present around those who might catch wise.

he doesn't want his brother to string leona up, after all. ] Anyway, I... do think I like the sound of your offer.

[ he hasn't showered with someone he liked before... new experiences, and honestly thinking of doing a full body like he wants makes him feel a little tired. maybe he'll get the beastman to wash his hair too. ]

[ it's nice hearing kaname say his name. it brings a smile to his face, and some of those worries are assuaged by his voice alone. he can't really describe why it does--- maybe it's the tone? the warmth that lingers in his ears?

he'll bottle up that feeling for later. ]

Nice. Here, lemme get off of ya and then... we can continue a lil' in the shower.

[ best place to get dirty is the place you get clean. kind of.

and then he grins. ]

[ continue... nibble... kaname flushes, biting at leona's lips briefly before letting him go. get up then. ]

[ kaname'll be a little more sheepish with his nakedness, regardless of what they'd just done he's not used to being so bare around others, but it's fine. he'll get over it in time. ]

[ as he rolls off, he holds a hand out to kaname. though he feels lethargic, he can't help but have a burst of... some kind of energy. something youthful? playful? maybe it's a second wind of arousal, too.

either way, the shower is turned on with a flick of the wrist. thanks, magic. ]

[ ... he's taking the blanket. it's his robe now as he takes leona's hand and follows up, shivering a little at the lack of warmth enveloping him. he misses it already. he wants to be back under leona, surrounded and overwhelmed. it was cozy, comfy, and he'd definitely be lulled to sleep with those conditions.

the magic is cool as ever though, kaname's head ticking up in that direction. ]

but it'll do. let him... shimmy off the blanket, the marks leona'd left more pronounced given time to swell and darken. kaname scoffs in disbelief, turning his head to make sure the other isn't pulling his leg. ]
